Elaborate chest of drawers with three finely hand-carved drawers and a faux drawer flap containing ten little drawers, all filleted with maple. The raised top and flap of the piece show geometrical patterns formed by the inlay of maple fillets. Chest sides with diamond panels, moulded base fascia, console feet carved with a plant motif. The warm colour of the furniture is given by natural earths diluted in water and fixed with shellac and wax. |
